While Brenda initially ignored the post, the persistence of the tags and the increasing vitriol in the comment sections finally prompted a response. Brenda clarified that the statement in the post is entirely fabricated. “Ilang buwan na rin itong laman ng ibat ibang pages.. daming nag tatag sakin dito,” Brenda began, noting that while the engagement helps with online relevance, the psychological behavior of the audience is what is truly concerning.

The comedian pointed out the irony of people using a lie to justify harassment. Brenda emphasized that the issue isn't the post itself, but the fact that so many people accepted the quote as gospel truth without a second thought. “You are abullying Us sa post na ito pero alam nyo ang totoo? Alam nyo ang mas nakakaawa? Hindi kami eh.... Kayo naniniwala sa Post na ito,” Brenda stated, likening the belief in such fake news to believing that “1+1=Magellan.”
