Vice Ganda is known for being the life of the party, but her recent trip to the mall was surprisingly quiet. In her latest vlog titled "MOTHERING My Last-Minute Christmas Shopping!" uploaded on December 31, the MMFF 2025 Best Actor awardee took fans along as she bought gifts for her mother, siblings, and partner Ion Perez. However, instead of the usual holiday chaos, the Unkabogable Star was met with empty hallways and sparse crowds in a posh Makati mall.

As she navigated the luxury stores, Vice couldn't help but comment on the lack of foot traffic. She mentioned that a friend who had just come from Greenbelt told her the same thing—the crowds were simply not there.
“Feeling ko talaga wala masyado namimili ngayon lalong-lalo na 'yung mga pulitiko hindi sila masyado namimili, hindi sila masyado nagpapahalata at nagpapakita sa mga mall-mall, kaya discreet-discreet lang sila,” Vice observed.
She noted that only "ordinary people" seemed to be out and about this year.

This observation comes at a time when Vice Ganda and several other celebrities have been vocal about their frustrations regarding national issues. Recently, a multi-billion flood control project involving the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) sparked public outrage. High-profile lawmakers and government officials have faced heavy scrutiny after the project was exposed, leading to heated discussions online about how public funds are being used.
Vice hinted that this political climate might be the reason why the families of those in power are staying under the radar. During her shopping trip on December 24, she noticed a stark difference.
“Yung mga pamilya ng mga pulitiko, hindi masyado nagsho-shopping ngayon, ayaw nila magpahalata. I'm sure online shopping sila,” she added.
Her statements suggest that the elite might be avoiding the public eye to prevent being seen "flaunting" wealth while controversies are still fresh in the minds of the people.
Despite the serious undertones of her observations, the vlog remained entertaining as Vice showcased her signature humor while picking out luxury items. Vice Ganda is one of the most successful entertainers in the Philippines, starting as a stand-up comedian before becoming a blockbuster movie star and a mainstay host on "It's Showtime." She has often used her platform to speak out on social and political issues, blending comedy with biting social commentary that resonates with millions of Filipinos.
Known for her sharp wit, Vice Ganda never misses an opportunity to speak her mind, even when cameras are rolling. In a recent episode of her show, she reportedly dropped some "shade" regarding her previous experiences with Viva Films during a live broadcast. This candidness has become a hallmark of her career, as she continues to balance humor with direct honesty about the industry.
Aside from social issues, Vice also keeps up with the latest digital trends and her fellow celebrities. She recently went viral for her hilarious reaction to Nadine Lustre’s "aesthetic" photos, proving that she always has her pulse on what is trending online. Whether she is talking about politicians or pop culture icons, Vice Ganda remains a dominant force in the local digital space.
