In an interview clip that circulated on TikTok, the veteran actress was asked about speculation linking Kaila to actor Daniel Padilla, prompting her to address the topic with honesty and restraint.
Janice acknowledged that a parent’s natural response is to be cautious when their child becomes the subject of public attention.
“Of course, the first instinct of any parent is to protect and to overprotect in this case,” she said.

Despite this, she emphasized that young people also need room to grow and explore life on their own terms.
She explained that children, like their parents, have dreams and experiences they want to pursue.
“We should also know that like us, marami silang gustong gawin, marami silang gustong ma-experience. Of course, they need guidance pero we should allow them to experience,” she added.
Janice further shared that trust becomes essential once children reach adulthood.
She pointed out that parents must eventually learn to step back and have confidence in the values they instilled.
“But to a certain extent because at some point, when all our kids are adult already, dapat pagkatiwalaan mo rin sila na kaya nilang desisyunan ang buhay nila and at the same time, pagkatiwalaan mo rin ang sarili mo na pinapalaki mo sila ng tama,” she explained.
When asked about the photos and videos of Kaila and Daniel that have been circulating online, Janice kept her response grounded and straightforward.
“Kung ano ang nakikita nila, ‘yun na ‘yun. However or whatever you feel or kung ano ang naiisip mo sa picture, kaya mo na ‘yan,” she said.
