Ogie Diaz took to Instagram Stories to express his confusion over the recent wave of online attacks targeting Senator Risa Hontiveros.

According to the talent manager and vlogger, the senator was unfairly dragged into the anger of Atty. Rowena Guanzon despite having no direct involvement in their previous dispute.

Diaz wrote that the tension “nagsimula lang yan sa talakan sa Powerplant,” referring to an earlier confrontation that had nothing to do with Hontiveros.

Diaz also pointed out that shortly after the incident, a noticeable surge of troll activity began targeting the senator.

He questioned whether these attacks were being orchestrated ahead of the 2028 elections.

In his post, he asked if Hontiveros was being seen as a political threat, saying that there might be instructions like “Risa-nin n'yo ang 2028” meant to discourage her potential candidacy.

Instead of spreading negativity, Diaz encouraged critics to shift their energy toward showcasing the positive contributions of the politicians they support.

He suggested that presenting genuine accomplishments would be far more beneficial to the public discourse.

Diaz emphasized this further by mentioning how even hardworking public officials face persistent criticism.

He remarked that “Si Ma'am Leni nga, performing mayor, bina-bash nyo pa rin,” highlighting how some detractors seem unwilling to acknowledge competent leadership.

Diaz ended his posts by urging a more constructive approach, saying that people might simply be “di lang talaga kayo sanay makakita ng masipag at tapat maglingkod sa bayan.”
