In a candid post shared early Sunday, Paolo admitted that the situation spiraled beyond his control and resulted in an extended workday for his already exhausted team.
“Tonight, I lost complete control of our event, which caused a major delay and added two extra hours of work to an already exhausted team,” he said.
He also issued an apology to JBL, the event’s client, and to the OPM group Cup of Joe.

Paolo noted the band had to be fetched via motorcycle amid heavy traffic to make it in time for their adjusted schedule.
He added that it was his first year directing JBL Sound Fest, making the experience particularly frustrating.
On Instagram, he clarified one concern directly, saying, “Hindi late 'yung Cup of Joe.”
As he wrapped up his message, Paolo reflected on the lessons he gained from the challenging night.
“We learn new things every day, and I know I still have a lot to improve!! To everyone who was there, super sorry,” he wrote.

Paolo then addressed performer Rico Blanco, expressing that despite his admiration for the musician, their professional paths should no longer intersect.
“And to Rico, my hero, while I sincerely wish you the best, I've learned that we're simply not meant to work together again,” he said.
GMANetwork.com reached out to Paolo for additional context but has yet to receive a response. Rico Blanco, meanwhile, has not released any statement regarding the matter.
Gary Valenciano remains one of the most celebrated figures in OPM and Philippine television, earning the title “Mr. Pure Energy” for his powerful and dynamic performances. He is married to Maria Anna Elizabeth “Angeli” Pangilinan, sister of Senator Francis Pangilinan, and together they share three children—Paolo, Gab, and Kiana Valenciano.
In a previous update, Angeli opened up about a health scare that forced Gary to end a show earlier than planned. She explained that he had eaten something that caused him to vomit repeatedly. Even in that condition, Angeli said that Gary was determined to continue the concert. Later on, she reassured fans that he was already doing well and was only dehydrated, sharing a short clip of Gary himself confirming that he was fine.
Meanwhile, Gary previously addressed retirement rumors in an interview with Ogie Diaz. He clarified that he has no intention of leaving the industry and explained that the title of his show might have caused confusion, as it suggested it could be his last major performance in a large venue. Mr. Pure Energy said he will keep performing for as long as his heart allows him to.
