On the photo-sharing app, Aubrey started her lengthy caption by defining marriage to be a "survival of the fittest" concept, emphasizing the struggle and strength required to make a union last.

"Marriage is survival of the fittest. Only the strongest will stay," she wrote.

She revealed that the most common question she received back in the day is why she and Troy took so long to marry, prompting her to turn the question inward, one that piqued the interest of many.

"Daming nagtanong sa akin bakit ang tagal ko nagpakasal, ang dapat na tanong: 'Bakit ako nagpakasal?'"

Aubrey and Troy were in a long-term relationship before tying the knot. They were married in a simple, civil ceremony in Mandaluyong City in June 2022, after being together for 18 years.

Despite the nearly two decades they spent together before marriage, Aubrey humorously admitted that the formal union hasn't changed their daily reality much, which others related to as well.

"We're only married for 3 years but to be honest, I don't feel any difference. We made sure at nag-double check pa bago magpakasal. It took us 17 years bago magpakasal."

Aubrey also used her reflection to challenge traditional mindsets about long-term relationships.

"Sabi nila iba pag kasal na at mag-boyfriend/girlfriend pa lang, wrong mentality for me. Bakit kaya ganun? I know every couple is different but in marriage we only have one goal: 'For better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, 'till death do us part...' but then, ano ba ang mga possible reasons, strong/solid reason to separate?"
