A Bacoor court has convicted actor Archie Alemania of acts of lasciviousness in connection with a complaint filed by actress Rita Daniela, marking a significant legal victory for the latter.

The court sentenced Alemania to a maximum of one year of imprisonment and directed him to pay P20,000 in civil indemnity and another P20,000 in moral damages.

“Of course, we are very happy with the decision. Rita fought and she attained justice,” said Daniela’s legal counsel, Atty. Maggie Abraham-Garduque, after the ruling was released.

The case stemmed from an incident in 2024, when the two, who had previously worked together on a television series, were reportedly in a car ride home following a gathering.

Daniela accused Alemania of committing a sexual violation and uttering inappropriate remarks during the trip.

Following the incident, the actress confronted Alemania through a message, expressing how she felt disrespected and violated by his behavior.

A screenshot of the exchange, which surfaced online, showed Alemania apologizing to Daniela and admitting that he had been drunk at the time.

The conviction serves as a reminder of accountability within the entertainment industry, especially concerning cases of sexual misconduct.

With the court’s decision now rendered, Rita Daniela’s camp expressed relief that the legal process affirmed her courage in standing up for herself and for others who may have faced similar situations.

Archie Alemania has entered a “Not Guilty” plea during his arraignment for the case filed against him by Rita Daniela. It can be recalled that the singer-actress filed an “acts of lasciviousness” case against the Pinoy actor-comedian and host. During his arraignment, the court also granted the request of the legal team of Archie to limit public statements from involved parties.
