Kathryn Bernardo joins Madame Tussauds’ Hall of Icons with Hong Kong wax figure

Kathryn Bernardo, dubbed the “Box Office Queen” of her generation, is set to be immortalized in wax by Madame Tussauds, joining an elite group of Filipino icons honored by the world-renowned museum.

Her wax figure will soon be unveiled at the Madame Tussauds branch in Hong Kong—an apt location, as the city served as the backdrop for her record-breaking film "Hello, Love, Goodbye."

In an interview with "PhilSTAR L!fe" following her detailed measurement session, Bernardo expressed deep gratitude for the recognition.

“I never thought this day would happen, and my heart is just full of gratitude. As in, 'di ko naman to inexpect,” she shared, calling the experience “unforgettable.”

At just 29, Bernardo joins the ranks of Manny Pacquiao, Pia Wurtzbach, Catriona Gray, Anne Curtis, and Lea Salonga—becoming the youngest among them.

“It’s very overwhelming, but at the same time, it feels good to be recognized and for them to pick me to represent my country and being the youngest pa,” she said.

Her wax figure will capture “Kath as herself,” reflecting a personal and timeless version of her.

“This is me as myself. So whatever you're gonna see there, one of the most important moments that happened to me years ago,” she explained.

Beyond the wax tribute, Bernardo continues to build her legacy through her craft. Her latest film, "Hello, Love, Again," grossed ₱1.6 billion worldwide and was considered for an Oscar entry. The actress also teased her upcoming teleserye with James Reid.

Looking ahead, she hopes to inspire future artists.

“I want to be remembered as Kath the person more than Kath the celebrity,” she said, adding that she hopes the next wax figure belongs to the legendary Fernando Poe Jr.

Kathryn Bernardo is a Filipina actress, model, and entrepreneur, widely regarded as one of the biggest stars in the Philippine entertainment industry. She rose to fame as a child star and became one of the most sought-after leading ladies of her generation. She gained recognition for her role as Mara in the 2010 TV series Mara Clara, a remake of the classic 1992 soap opera. The new series marks a reunion with Dreamscape, the production unit behind her breakthrough role in the 2010 hit series, Mara Clara. This will be Bernardo's first lead role in a TV series since her 2022 romantic-comedy, 2 Good 2 Be True. The announcement follows her recent success in film, including starring in Hello, Love, Again, the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.

This was after the actress and the politician were allegedly spotted separately at NAIA, both reportedly traveling to Australia.
