During his album release party in Pasay City, the young artist openly shared why speaking out matters to him, particularly on corruption in the Philippines.
“I'm the type of artist kasi na wala naman akong so much credibility when it comes to political stance. It's just that morally speaking, I know that I'm fighting for the things that are right. And I will say things that are right. I believe that is right. At confident ako doon na magsasabi ako ng mga ganun sa mga social media platforms ko, even when I'm singing in front of the stage,” he bravely stated.

“It's just sad that we're living in a country full of love, but at the same time, yung mga nagseserbisyo sa atin, sila pa yung parang hindi tayo mahal. Mahal na mahal nila tayo pag botohan, pero pag nandyan na sila sa posisyon, nalilimutan na nila tayo. And I don't think that's love,” he expressed.
Recognizing the influence he holds as an artist, Maki added, “I'm a singer na I want people to realize, and I want Filipinos to wake up. Na meron kasi kaming power na to influence people, and to make them see, and for them to be knowledgeable.”
He also clarified that his statements come from sincerity, stressing that he speaks up not for clout but out of genuine concern for the country.
