The issue was tackled in the latest episode of Ogie Diaz Showbiz Updates with Ogie Diaz, Loi Valderama, and Ate Mrena.
Ogie said Kim’s experience showed how some celebrities now wonder if they even have the right to comment on politics.
He emphasized that artists have personal feelings just like netizens, who freely share opinions in support of their chosen politicians.
According to Ogie, Kim’s emotions were understandable since Marcoleta was one of the lawmakers who opposed the renewal of ABS-CBN’s franchise, a network she belongs to.
Ogie also revealed that he, too, received bashing when he proudly shared that he did not vote for Marcoleta.
The actress has not explained why she deleted her post. Senator Marcoleta has also remained silent.
Meanwhile, Kim’s statement continues to spark online debates about free speech and the role of celebrities in political issues.
