Ate Gay, whose real name is Gil Morales, shared his heartfelt thanks to a doctor who reached out after hearing about his illness.

In a Facebook post, he said a certain Dr. Ramos personally looked for him because he could not sleep, worrying about how to help.

The doctor, who was once entertained by Ate Gay’s performances, decided to give back by offering support and guidance on his health journey.

Ate Gay recalled how meaningful the visit was. He said Dr. Ramos gave him time to talk and shared ways on how he might cope with the disease.

He expressed gratitude, saying the doctor’s effort meant a lot during this difficult time.

Known as one of the country’s beloved stand-up comedians, Ate Gay rose to fame for his impersonation of the late Superstar Nora Aunor and his unique song mash-ups.

He has brought joy and laughter to many Filipinos through his performances on stage and screen.

Allan K, host of Eat Bulaga and a close friend, revealed that Ate Gay is battling mucoepidermoid cancer versus squamous cell carcinoma.

Doctors reportedly told him the illness has no cure and that his life may only last until 2026.

According to the National Institute of Health (NIH), this cancer is the most common malignant and invasive tumor of the salivary glands, accounting for about 35% of such cases.

In a previous report by KAMI, Ate Gay became the center of discussion after the KMJS team shared an update about him on Facebook. In the post, Ate Gay revealed that he was diagnosed with cancer. The comedian admitted that because of this, he cries and feels sad every day.

Meanwhile, in 2022, Ate Gay’s mother passed away, and the comedian turned to Facebook to grieve. He shared that his mother always accompanied him during performances. He also recalled how his mother would often change the radio station whenever he was listening. Ate Gay expressed sadness that now that his mother is gone, no one will be there to change the radio station anymore.
