Kim Chiu has used her platform to speak up about pressing national issues. In her latest post, the It's Showtime host shared a heartfelt and powerful "open letter" directed at the country's public servants, where she poured out her frustrations over corruption and misuse of public funds.

"Ako ay isang ordinaryong mamamayan — nagbabayad ng buwis, nagbabantay ng kinabukasan ng aking pamilya, at umaasang ang mga taong iniluklok sa kapangyarihan ay kakatawan sa interes ng bayan," Kim began, emphasizing that she speaks not as a celebrity, but as an ordinary taxpayer and citizen, one that resonated deeply with her fans, followers, and even celebrities.

The actress admitted that it has become both exhausting and disheartening to repeatedly hear reports of massive corruption scandals, as well as the money being stolen. "Nakakabigla at nakakalungkot ang paulit-ulit nating nababasa: TRILYONG PISO na ipinaghahatian sa harap-harapang paraan. Ang mga dapat sana'y tumupad ng tungkulin bilang 'public servants' — ang nagkaroon ng tiwala ng maraming boto — sila pa ang lumalapastangan sa tiwalang iginawad ng taumbayan," she said, underscoring the betrayal of trust committed by those in power.

Kim went on to express that what corrupt officials take from the people is far greater than just money. "Hindi lang pera ang ninanakaw ninyo — ninakaw ninyo ang PAG-ASA. Ninakaw ninyo ang kinabukasan ng kabataan, ang ginhawa ng mahihirap, at ang pananampalataya ng taong-bayan na may hustisya pa rin sa ating bansa," she lamented, her words resonating with many.

In one of the most striking parts of her viral open letter, Kim questioned the conscience of those who continue to enrich themselves at the expense of millions and the suffering of the people.

Paano ninyo nalulunok ang mamahaling pagkain habang marami ang nagugutom at nasasawi sa sakuna dahil walang ipinamigay na tulong?" she asked in her viral open letter.
