A Quezon City Regional Trial Court has issued a bench warrant against Arnel Pineda, lead vocalist of the American rock band "Journey," for failing to attend his arraignment in a case filed by his former wife, according to Bombo Radyo.

The court released the warrant after Pineda repeatedly missed scheduled hearings despite assurances from his legal counsel that he would appear.
The case involves alleged violations of the Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act (Republic Act 9262).
According to reports, the singer faces charges of marital infidelity and psychological abuse.

The complaint detailed accusations of withholding financial support, abandonment, and verbal or emotional mistreatment. In her affidavit, Pineda’s former wife claimed their relationship deteriorated significantly in 2021, eventually leading to their separation.
She further alleged that Pineda brought their minor child to the United States without her consent while he was on tour, which became one of the focal points of the case.
Authorities confirmed that the bench warrant was served on September 12, but the singer was not found at the address on record. He is expected to appear in court on September 17.
The case is bailable, with bail set at ₱72,000. Despite the ongoing controversy, Pineda has yet to issue an official statement regarding the charges or the court’s recent action.
Pineda, who rose to international fame in 2007 after being named the frontman of "Journey," is widely recognized for his vocal prowess and global performances.
However, the current case now casts a legal shadow over his personal and professional life.

Earlier, a video of the performance Arnel Pineda during a concert of Journey in Rio, Brazil has gone viral. The video clip was shared by the page "Behind the Songs." In the clip, Arnel was struggling to reach high notes in the song. His video has been shared many times, and it elicited a lot of reactions from netizens.
Subsequently, Arnel issued a statement on Facebook, and offered to leave the rock band “Journey” after video of his performance in “Rock in Rio” in Brazil surfaced online. It can be recalled that the page “Behind the Songs” posted a video of Arnel where he struggled with the high notes of the song “Don’t Stop Believing.” The singer, subsequently, issued a statement addressing the said video and acknowledged he wasn’t able to perform well during that particular event. He then made an offer to everyone for them to vote so he can make the proper decision.
