Kapamilya star Awra Briguela recently spoke about her personal journey and revealed that she has plans to undergo gender reassignment surgery once she feels fully ready.

Speaking with content creator Killa Kush on her podcast, the former child actor opened up about her transition from identifying as gay to embracing her identity as a transgender woman.
Awra explained that the turning point came when she realized she wanted to be recognized and respected as a woman.

“Yung moment na gusto ko mag transition na babae talaga. Before, sinasabi ko lang na gay lang ako–– bakla lang ako. Kasi wala akong balak mag transition… Kuntento na ako na ito lang nakakatawang bakla or like bakla lang na nagkakagusto sa lalaki,” she said.

“Pero, nung nasabi ko na gusto kong mag trans, gusto kong itrato akong babae, gusto ko yung tingin sa akin babae,” she added.
When asked about surgery, the young actress confirmed she intends to pursue it someday.
“Hindi pa ngayon, pero may plan din ako mag pa s3x change. I’m too young pa din,” Awra admitted.
However, she also revealed one hesitation: her physique. Years of building muscle have become part of her identity, making her reluctant to lose it.
“Kasi guys, hirap pa ako mag decision ngayon kasi nga yung muscle ko hindi ako makapag decision kung papatunaw ko pa kasi love ko talaga siya. Parang it makes me so unique kaya hindi ko siya mapatanggal tanggal,” she shared.
For now, Awra is stepping back from show business to prioritize her studies, considering a degree in either Mass Communications or Multimedia Arts to align with her career path.
Awra Briguela is a known Filipino actress, comedienne, and social media personality. She first rose to fame as a child star after gaining attention for her energetic and confident personality, which led to her breakout role in the primetime TV series "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano." Awra became widely recognized for her expressive facial reactions and comedic timing in his various projects.
