Boy Abunda prays for Kris Aquino’s recovery, vows to support Bimby

TV host Boy Abunda said he remains in constant prayer for the recovery of his close friend Kris Aquino, who continues to battle multiple autoimmune diseases.

Speaking to reporters after hosting the 37th Star Awards for Television on August 24, Abunda emphasized that optimism and prayer are the best support he can offer.

When asked about Aquino’s current health status, he said, “Araw-araw [ay] patuloy ang dasal ko [para sa] well-being ni Kris.”

“We are in touch. Nag-uusap kami. Nadadalaw ko kapag may pagkakataon. And I continue to pray to God na she be well. Ako’y umaasa, positibo that she will be well,” Abunda shared.

The King of Talk also pointed out the difficulty of discussing Aquino’s condition in detail, noting, “Mahirap ‘yun, eh, na mag-categorize ka. Autoimmune is a very difficult condition.”

Abunda further clarified his role in the life of Aquino’s son, James “Bimby” Aquino, after Kris previously said that he would take care of her child if anything happens to her.

“I wanna clarify that. Habilin, kasi, can be mishumor. Kahit anong mangyari, may sakit man o wala si Kris, responsibilidad ko si Bimby, bilang ninong o kaibigan nang matagal na panahon,” he said.

Despite Aquino’s ongoing health struggles, Abunda revealed that they still talk about her possible return to show business. “Wala pa pero ‘yun ay dapat pag-usapan. But we keep on talking about it,” he added.

Meanwhile, back in May, Kris Aquino responded to another circulating death hoax about her. Her close friend Dindo Balares took to social media to share an update about the Queen of All Media. As per the retired journalist, Kris is currently residing on a private beach resort. Dindo likewise revealed the message he received from Kris, reacting to the claim that she had passed away.
