The agency's announcement, which was shared on its official social media channels, seeks to protect Pangilinan's reputation and warn the public against falling for the deceptive advertisements.

According to the statement, the agency became aware of a series of advertisements circulating on platforms like Facebook that feature the likeness and alleged endorsements of Pangilinan and her son, Quintin.

VAA was quick to clarify that Pangilinan does not endorse the BrainBoost product and has never made any statement in support of it.

The agency's firm stance against the fraudulent use of their talent's goodwill and name highlights a growing problem of false celebrity endorsements and misleading online scams.

In her own social media post, Pangilinan echoed her agency's message, urging the public to be vigilant and not be misled.

"We are not connected in any way in the product. Pls be advised. Kindly spread the news. Do not be misled," she wrote.

The move by VAA is not an isolated incident; other high-profile personalities have also been victims of similar schemes.

In the past, VAA has also had to issue warnings against the illegal use of its other artists, such as Anne Curtis, whose image was used in a deep-fake video to promote a product without her consent.

This trend underscores the need for greater vigilance from the public and stronger legal action against those who exploit celebrity status for commercial gain.

The statement from VAA also serves as a legal warning. The agency stated that it and Pangilinan reserve the right to pursue all appropriate legal remedies against those responsible for the misleading practices.

This signals a serious intent to hold the perpetrators accountable for the unauthorized use of their intellectual property and for potentially damaging the celebrity's reputation.

For years, Candy Pangilinan has been an advocate for special education, openly sharing her journey as a single mother to Quintin, who is a neurodivergent individual. Her advocacy and Quintin's story have earned them a huge following and an image of sincerity and love.

By using their names to endorse a product, the fraudulent advertisers not only misled the public but also took advantage of the public's trust in their personal story.
