In a recent interview with OMNI Television, the beauty queen and actress opened up about her life-changing career shift, revealing that she has found immense joy and purpose as an early childhood educator. This move, she says, is the realization of a lifelong dream.

Lara, who officially moved to Vancouver, Canada, with her husband, actor Marco Alcaraz, and their three sons in early 2025, shared that the decision to relocate was a deeply personal one.

The couple had long prayed for a place where they could raise their family in an environment that brought them closer to God and to each other.

The idea to pursue teaching came later, but it perfectly aligned with her aspirations.

"I didn't know that teachers were in demand," she admitted. "When we decided what course to take, I just said I really want to be a preschool teacher, I want to be an Early Childhood Educator, so I just pursued my dream."

Her journey culminated in June 2025, when she proudly announced that she had completed her Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Langara College with distinction.

On her social media, she shared a heartfelt message about her graduation, calling it a "beautiful result of every sacrifice and challenge we've faced and overcome by His grace."

For Lara, this new chapter is not just a career change but a testament to faith and a new purpose that goes beyond the crown.

While the new career path is a dream come true, Lara is candid about the challenges she faces in the classroom.

She currently teaches four preschool classes and also works in out-of-school care, dealing with a wide range of age groups.

The former beauty queen explained that the emotional and mental demands can be taxing, especially when trying to help children with different needs.

"There are times when the children have different skills, and everything happens at once," she explained. "Sometimes I want to help them, but I don't know how, especially with children who are non-verbal and can't express what they're feeling."

Despite the hurdles, the beauty queen and actress remains grateful and fulfilled. She views her new role not just as a job but as a calling, where she can help shape young lives and point them toward a positive path.
