Mama Ogs was invited as a resource person on "Your Honor" for a session titled “In Aid of Plastikan: Mga Plastik sa Showbiz.”
At the beginning of the interview with Madam Cha and Vice Chair Buboy, Ogie recalled his early days in the entertainment industry during the 1980s when he served as an assistant to veteran showbiz writer Cristy Fermin.
“That 1986, Oo, 16 years old ako. Inaabangan ko sa labas ng GMA compound si Ate Cristy Fermin dahil siya ay isa dun sa mga host ng Movie Magazine na naging Movie Patrol,” Ogie shared.

“Tapos nagbababad na ako dito, kasi, hindi na ako umaalis kasi baka hindi na ako papasukin. So pag-alis ni Ate Cristy naghihintay na lang ako ng Saturday edition ng That's Entertainment,” he added.
“Pero hindi pa ako reporter nun, alalay ako ni Ate Cristy, taga-bitbit ng blazer niya, ng tubig niya saka ng bag niya,” he said, reminiscing his humble beginnings.
When asked by Madam Cha about his worst encounter with a "plastic" person in showbiz, Ogie candidly replied.
“Siyempre, pagka-back biter ka, plastic na yun! So, maraming uri, maraming klase ng kaplastikan talaga...” he said.
Mama Ogs further clarified, “Ang daming mga kaplastikan talaga dito, kaya lang nga hindi lang naman dito sa larangan natin, madami rin kahit sa opisina. May mga ganyan din 'di ba.”
Ogie Diaz is a Filipino comedian, actor, entertainment reporter, talent manager, and vlogger His journey began in the late 1980s as an assistant to veteran columnist Cristy Fermin at Mariposa Publications, where he carried her belongings and learned the ropes of showbiz writing—even earning just ₱20 a day in his early years. From this humble start, he transitioned into a full-time entertainment writer in the early 1990s.
Ogie Diaz reacted to an issue surrounding Awra Briguela and her preferred pronouns. The showbiz columnist and talent manager offered some pieces of advice to Awra over the misgendering issue. Mama Ogs shared why he believes Awra should ignore a certain person who continues to address her with male pronouns. The entertainment reporter also ended his post with a powerful reminder.
