In his guest appearance on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda last Friday, Anjo recounted the moment Sheryl publicly shared the story about their called-off wedding.

“Kaya nga noong nag-guest siya rito, nahulog ako sa upuan ko kasi sinabi niya ‘yung totoo, ‘yung kasal na hindi natuloy,” said Anjo, laughing.

Anjo shared that he had actually proposed to Sheryl but got cold feet upon realizing he would need to face her uncle.

“Niyaya ko na siyang magpakasal noon. Then I broke up because natakot ako doon sa tito niya, si FPJ. I had to talk to him daw, bago kami magkatuluyan,” he said.
“So nagkaroon ako ng cold feet. Sabi ko, ‘Baka bugbugin ako.’ Ganu’n 'yung isip ko noon kasi bata pa ako eh, first time ko magpapakasal. Sabi ko, ‘Takot ako,’” he admitted.
“Iyon nga ‘yung sinabi niya noong hinulog niya ‘yung bomba ng interview. Totoo ‘yun, na bigla na lang ako nawala kasi ‘yun ang rason.”

Ten years later, the two reunited for a project. During a scene where Sheryl had to slap Anjo, the actor was surprised by how strong it was.

“Noong first time kaming magkita… may eksena na sasampalin ako… ‘pag sa akin, ang lakas. Kasi nilabas niya ‘yung galit niya ng sampung taon,” Anjo said with a chuckle.
