Derek Ramsay mentions Angelica Panganiban in latest interview on 'The B Side'

Derek Ramsay, an actor who has since semi-retired from showbiz, recently made a rare appearance on Bianca Gonzalez's The B Side, which officially aired on Cinema One's channel.

In the candid sit-down interview, Bianca invited Derek to look back on his years in the entertainment industry, revisiting the various films and TV series that defined his career.

A highlight of their conversation was when Bianca brought up his role in the 2006 hit drama series Maging Sino Ka Man: Ang Pagbabalik, where he portrayed Joaquin Delos Santos.

"Nakasama ka sa Maging Sino Ka Man, sa Book 2. From that, I remember kasi na kasama dun si Toni [Gonzaga] and there was Vice Ganda. What was that like? Yung being part of the second chapter of such an iconic soap?" Bianca asked, talking about the sequel of the iconic series.

Reflecting on that pivotal moment in his career, Derek shared that joining the cast came with intense pressure, "I already felt the pressure, kasi when they announced it, they were honest to tell me na, 'Hey, it's more pressure now' kasi Book 1 was so big. I'm now on stage with other big stars too and I'm just starting my career," he admitted humbly, earning praise from some netizens.

He further explained how overwhelming it was to work alongside established actors like John Lloyd Cruz, Bea Alonzo, Sam Milby, and Anne Curtis, who were all the main stars of the show.

"These guys were big names already and I just felt so much pressure working with all of them, and being in a project that already had so much success," Derek opened up about the experience.

In a surprising yet heartfelt moment, Derek mentioned his ex-girlfriend Angelica Panganiban, giving her credit for helping him through that challenging time he had as a new actor, "It's so much hard to do, yung sequel, right? The pressure was pretty intense, but at the time, Angelica [Panganiban] was my girlfriend and she's a talented actress so she was able to help me."

The two had been in a relationship for six years before they eventually parted ways in 2012.
