Veteran actor Cesar Montano has shown nothing but support for his ex-wife, actress Sunshine Cruz, and her new relationship with businessman Atong Ang.

In a recent interview with journalist Julius Babao, Montano expressed his happiness over Cruz’s budding romance.

“I can see that she’s happy. For a friend, when you see your friend happy, wouldn’t you be happy for them? So as long as she’s happy, then I’m happy for her enormously. Because when the mother of my children is happy, my children are happy as well,” Montano said in Tagalog.

The "Jose Rizal" star added that he had already met Ang during the birthday celebration of one of his daughters with Cruz.

He noted that there was no discomfort during their brief interaction.

“I knew him for a while. We talked but only briefly,” he said.

Montano and Cruz were married for 13 years before their marriage was annulled in 2018.

Despite the end of their marriage, the two have maintained an amicable relationship, especially for the sake of their three daughters: Angelina Isabelle, Samantha Angeline, and Angel Francheska.

The actor’s mature and supportive stance has drawn praise from netizens who admire his willingness to prioritize the happiness of his children and maintain peace with his former spouse.

Sunshine Cruz is a Filipina singer and actress who was born on July 18, 1977, and is part of the Cruz family clan. In September 2000, she married actor and director Cesar Montano. They have three daughters, namely Angelina Isabelle, Samantha Angeline, and Angel Franchesca. The couple's marriage ended in September 2018, 18 years after it was celebrated. Despite their split, Sunshine and Cesar are already in good terms. They could even be seen attending important occasions of their children together.
