Kira Balinger opens up about pain of growing up without a father and finding forgiveness

Actress Kira Balinger recently revisited a deeply personal chapter of her life in an emotional conversation on Karen Davila’s vlog.

Reflecting on her past, Kira spoke candidly about the emotional toll of growing up in a broken family and how the absence of her father affected her teenage years.

“Sad to say, but I do come from a broken family,” she shared.

“My mom and dad separated (when I was) at a very young age. I was only 11 or 12 years old. So, growing up without a father figure, sobrang hirap po para sa akin.”

The actress admitted that seeing complete families out in public was particularly difficult for her.

“Especially when I would go to the mall, ‘pag nakikita ko ‘yung ibang family na kumpleto, masaya silang kumakain, tumatawa — naiinggit po ako. I can’t lie, naiinggit po talaga ako. I can’t lie and say that I was okay, na...full of love when I really needed a father the most,” she added.

Despite the emotional distance that once stood between her and her dad, a recent event changed her perspective.

“It was only recently, si dad po, nagka-stroke po siya,” she revealed. “Talagang naging sobrang sampal po siya sa akin kasi you know, when you’re angry ‘di ba, hindi mo na naiisip 'yung mga bagay bagay na ‘oh they could go at any minute.’”

Kira now values every moment she has with her parents.

“If any of my parents would go, hindi ko rin po mapapatawad ang sarili ko for not making use of the time for loving them, for giving back, and forgiving them,” she said with sincerity.

Kira Balinger is a Filipino-British actress, model, and singer known for her work in Philippine television and film. She rose to fame through her appearances in popular ABS-CBN shows such as "Ang Probinsyano", "Pamilya Ko", and "Araw Gabi". In a previous report by KAMI, a family of three was mercilessly shot and killed inside their store in Barangay Mallorca, San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija. Caught by CCTV, three men entered their store, closed the roll-up door, and shot the entire family to death. Before fleeing, one of the suspects even grabbed a bag and a mobile phone from the victim. In a report by Gary De Leon of TV 5's 'Frontline Pilipinas,' the family started getting threats after lending P1-M to one of the residents of their barangay; allegedly using the money for business.

In another viral local report, a 51-year-old public school teacher in Las Piñas City was stabbed multiple times by her own husband. According to the report of EJ Gomez in 'Unang Balita,' the 38-year-old suspect committed the crime inside the school's faculty room. Police authorities said the school has a security guard, but, being a familiar face in the school, the suspect managed to easily get in and out of the school. The suspect said he was there to talk to his wife and settle their misunderstanding, but unfortunately, it led to a big arguement.
