Carla Abellana, a Kapuso actress, didn't hold back after calling out a misleading report involving her ex-husband, Tom Rodriguez, one that prompted many of Carla's fans to laud the actress.

On her official Instagram page, @carlaangeline, the actress addressed a circulating article that claimed Tom had recently reached out to her — a story she had called out on the photo app.

Aside from Tom, Carla's father, Rey "PJ" Abellana, seemed to be mentioned in the same article.

Clearly frustrated, Carla questioned the credibility of the report and issued a warning, even mentioning 'libel' in her post: "Eh kung kasuhan ko na lang kayo at yang 'source' ninyo ng libel?"

Carla and Tom were once one of local show business's most beloved and followed couples.

The two tied the knot in 2021 at the San Juan Nepomuceno Parish, but their marriage ended in separation the following year — a split that stirred online buzz and widespread speculation.

In 2023, ABS-CBN News reported Carla's appearance on Bea Alonzo's vlog, where she participated in a 'Lie Detector Challenge' and reflected on her marriage with Tom, with Carla admitting a few things, "Honestly, kung si Carla, tanggalin mo lahat ng yun, yes talagang nagsisisi ako."

A year later, in 2024, GMA News reported that the Philippine court had officially recognized Carla's divorce from Tom, one that she divulged to Boy Abunda on his self-titled show on TV.

That same year, Inquirer published a story where Carla revealed she had no issue crossing paths with her ex, although she admitted she still didn’t see herself working with him anytime soon.
