Alongside Kyle Echarri and Iñigo Pascual, Darren performed “Mona Lisa” by J-Hope of the globally famous K-pop boy group BTS.
The performance made the rounds on social media and drew mixed reactions online.
One netizen posted on X, formerly Twitter: “Dare I say… people who can’t sing need to stop covering his songs. Seriously.”
The negative remark then caught the attention of Darren, who later tweeted a frank reaction to the negative comment.
“Please consider watching my other vocal performances cuz one thing I won’t take is someone telling me I 'CAN’T SING,'” he wrote, defending his vocal abilities.
He went on to put links directing to videos of himself doing his commendable renditions of “This Is Me,” “Con Te Partirò,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Chandelier,” and “Bibitaw Na.”
The original post has been made private following the online backlash from the Filipino singer's fans.

In a previous report by KAMI, Darren and JK Labajo’s supposed interaction made the rounds all over social media. On April 5, Karen Davila shared a carousel post containing several photos from the ABS-CBN Ball 2025, which took place on Friday, April 4 at the Solaire Resort North in Quezon City. However, one of the photos she shared caught the attention of eagle-eyed netizens, who noticed the two singers purportedly interacting. This prompted the netizens to question whether Darren and JK have already reconciled.
To recall, it was back in October 2018 when a public feud ensued between Darren and JK due to a "gayness" tweet allegedly posted by the latter. JK later denied posting the tweet and said that his account was hacked that time.
