Arnold Clavio once again took to social media to pay tribute to Ricky Davao, who passed away on May 1, 2025 at the age of 63.

In an Instagram post, Arnold shared a lovely throwback photo of himself with Ricky captured when they bumped into each other at an event.

Along with the snap, the Kapuso news anchor looked back on his fond memories of the late veteran actor and director.

“EHEM : Ang pinaka-malambing na nilalang na nakilala ko ay ikaw - Direk @rickyad … Hindi ko makakalimutan tuwing magkikita tayo sa GMA Events at mga wedding ceremonies, tatayo ka at lalapit sa akin to say ‘hello’, ‘kumusta’ sabay yakap,” Igan recollected.

The veteran broadcast journalist also revealed his reaction when he learned about Ricky’s demise.

“At di ko maiwasan na tumulo ang luha ko nang mabalitaan ko ang mangyari sa ‘yo . Di ko alam na may pinagdadaan ka.”

“Definitely mami-miss kita tuwing may mga pagtitupon Direk,” he continued.

Igan concluded his tribute post by wishing Ricky’s soul eternal peace.

“Rest in peace. You are now in good hands.”

Ara Davao, late actor Ricky's daughter with his ex-wife Jackie Lou Blanco, shared the reason for her father's passing.

On Instagram, Ara announced the passing of her father, and followed it with the cause of his death. She mentioned that after Ricky bravely fought complications related to cancer, sadly, he succumbed to it on May 1.

"It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Ricky Davao. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children and loved ones, after bravely facing complications related to cancer," part of the announcement reads.

It can be recalled that back in 2024, Ricky was diagnosed with a terminal illness, but the exact details were kept private.

Ricky Davao, born Frederick Charles Caballes Davao on May 30, 1961, in Manila, was a well-known figure in Philippine entertainment. He began his career as a dancer before shifting to acting, where he became a familiar face in movies, television, and theater. Coming from a family of artists, he was the son of veteran actor Charlie Davao and the younger brother of Bing Davao. He was also once married to actress Jackie Lou Blanco, and they had three children together, including Arabella Davao, who also entered showbiz.
