In her Instagram post on Saturday, May 3, Manilyn rued not calling Ricky before his passing.

“Kuya… Nakakainis, hindi na ako nakatawag sa iyo.”

The actress went on to look back on his lovely memories of the veteran actor and director.

“I will never forget your thoughtfulness. ‘Yung lagi akong may kung anu-anong pasalubong (slippers, peanuts, etc. ) sa taping tuwing galing ka ng biyahe, at kahit nasa bansa lang.”

In her heartfelt letter, Manilyn also expressed her deep appreciation for Ricky, whom she treated as her elder brother.

“Thank you, Kuya, laging feeling safe kaming mga ka-eksena mo sa mga nakakatakot at maseselang eksena. At higit sa lahat, sa pag-trato mo sa akin na nakababatang kapatid. Thank you rin uli sa lapel belt, Kuya.”

The “Pepito Manaloto” star concluded her message by expressing that Ricky’s memory will live on.

“You will be missed… Rest ka na, Kuya… Salamat uli,” Manilyn had written.

Ara Davao, late actor Ricky's daughter with his ex-wife Jackie Lou Blanco, shared the reason for her father's passing.

On Instagram, Ara announced the passing of her father, and followed it with the cause of his death. She mentioned that after Ricky bravely fought complications related to cancer, sadly, he succumbed to it on May 1, 2025.

It can be recalled that back in 2024, Ricky Davao was diagnosed with a terminal illness, but the exact details were kept private.

Ricky Davao, born Frederick Charles Caballes Davao on May 30, 1961, in Manila, was a well-known figure in Philippine entertainment. He began his career as a dancer before shifting to acting, where he became a familiar face in movies, television, and theater. Coming from a family of artists, he was the son of veteran actor Charlie Davao and the younger brother of Bing Davao. He was also once married to actress Jackie Lou Blanco, and they had three children together, including Arabella Davao, who also entered showbiz.

Ice Seguerra paid tribute to Ricky Davao in a heartfelt social media post. The singer-songwriter took to Instagram to share a photo from their last get-together for Ricky’s birthday. Ice likewise recalled his last moments with Ricky when he visited the veteran actor-director in the hospital. As per Ice, he really thought Ricky would recover and spend time with him anew.

Earlier, Arnold Clavio posted his reaction to Ricky’s untimely passing. On Instagram, the Kapuso veteran broadcaster expressed sadness over the unfortunate news. Igan likewise wished the veteran actor and director’s soul eternal peace. The Philippine entertainment industry also mourns the recent deaths of Gloria Romero, Delia Razon, Pilita Corrales, Nora Aunor, and Hajji Alejandro.
