As per reports, Ricky passed away on May 1, 2025 after being diagnosed with a terminal illness in 2024. He was 63 years old.

Shortly after the unfortunate news surfaced, Carmi took to Instagram to pay tribute to Ricky.

She began her tribute post by sending her sincere sympathies to the bereaved family.

“My deepest condolences to the family of Direk Ricky Davao.”

“I’m sad that you passed away so soon,” Carmi penned, expressing her reaction to the heartbreaking news.

The veteran actress went on to recollect Ricky’s moments during the filming of the 2025 romance-comedy movie ‘Sosyal Climbers,’ starring Maris Racal and Anthony Jennings.

“I remember you last year sa shoot natin ‘Sosyal Climbers’ at napaka bibo mo teaching us about acting pero yung last daw shoot nga masama na pakiramdam mo bcoz of your neck operation,” Carmi revealed.

She concluded her post by writing her earnest farewell message to Ricky.

“I will definitely miss your presence Direk Ricky. May you now rest in God’s presence.”

Ricky Davao, born Frederick Charles Caballes Davao on May 30, 1961, in Manila, was a well-known figure in Philippine entertainment. He began his career as a dancer before shifting to acting, where he became a familiar face in movies, television, and theater. Coming from a family of artists, he was the son of veteran actor Charlie Davao and the younger brother of Bing Davao. He was also once married to actress Jackie Lou Blanco, and they had three children together, including Arabella Davao, who also entered showbiz.

In a previous report by KAMI, Jackie Lou Blanco revealed that her children with former husband, Ricky Davao, became worried when they learned there’s going to be a slapping scene in the series, ‘I Can See You: AlterNATE. The limited series of GMA Telebabad feature Jackie Lou, Ricky, Dingdong Dantes and many more. In the series, Ricky and Jackie Lou will portray roles as husband and wife, something they said is not new to them being a married couple in the past until their separation. Jackie Lou admitted, that she found it difficult at first as the last time they worked together was in 2011, though eventually, everything went well.

Earlier, Jackie Lou posted her throwback photo which went viral. In the caption, the singer revealed she was only 14 years old when the photo was taken and was in her first year of high school. She also recalled that her Mom, Pilita Corrales, had a scheduled photo shoot that day and that her daughter was part of that photo shoot too. Jackie Lou is the daughter of Pilita by her husband, the late Gonzalo Blanco, and the half-sister of Ramon Christopher.
