As reported by ABS-CBN News in March 2025, the actor's daughter had just turned two years old.

Nearly a year before that, in May 2024, Inquirer shared that Baby Hailey had been christened—a milestone moment Diego and Alexis celebrated together with a Star Wars-themed party.

At the press event, the actor was also asked about the theme of his new movie, which delves into the murky waters of "situationships"—a term popularized by Gen Zs to describe ambiguous romantic relationships that often fall somewhere between friendship and commitment.

Diego reflected on the concept thoughtfully and said: "That's the reality that couples face these days. It's hard to commit to somebody these days. You deserve the love you deserve. Is the relationship just physical or you're looking for love in the long run or in-betweens?"

He continued, pointing out how modern relationships and couples have evolved with time:

"It's 2025, couples now have more options to love or how they want to be loved. I don't judge how two people get into a relationship. It's hard to force someone. Everyone has different priorities."

Diego then concluded his thoughts with a message of tolerance and sincerity: "Others prefer to work or others prefer to look for a serious love life. They have different preferences, but we shouldn't judge the choices that we make. If that's what makes them happy, as long as they don't step on anybody's toes. I hope they don't go into a relationship with somebody who's married."
