South Korean director Park Hee Gon passed away today, April 30, as confirmed in a report by PhilSTAR Life through Koreaboo.

He was first recognized in the industry through his first major film, "Insad0ng Scandal."

Park Hee Gon's funeral will be at the Myongji Hospital in Goyang on May 2. Afterwhich, he will be buried at the Seoul City Crematorium.

Park Hee-gon was a South Korean film director and screenwriter, born in 1969. He started his career in the advertising industry after winning a grand prize in a national college student advertising competition, which led to his work as a commercial director. He later moved into directing music videos before making his film debut. His first major film was "Insad0ng Scandal" in 2009, a crime thriller about art forgery. He gained further recognition with "Perfect Game" in 2011, a sports drama about the rivalry between baseball legends Choi D0ng-won and Sun D0ng-yeol. In 2018, he directed "Feng Shui," a historical film centered on political power and geomancy. His final movie, "Don't Buy the Seller" (also known as "Target"), was released in 2023.
