Her contributions to the arts were recognized in 2022 when she was named National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts. In 1975, Nora married fellow actor Christopher de Leon. They have one biological son, Ian de Leon, and adopted four children: Lotlot, Matet, Kiko, and Kenneth de Leon.
It can be recalled that Superstar and National Artist Nora Aunor was finally laid to her eternal resting place. She was surrounded by her fans called the 'Noranians,' her family, and her children Ian, Lotlot, Matet, Kenneth, and Kiko. In a video shared by ABS-CBN News on YouTube, Lotlot and Matet De Leon weren't able to hold their tears back. It can be recalled that Nora Aunor died on April 16, 2025; she was 71.

According to her, the Superstar was revived after the first and second flatlines. The siblings decided to accept their mother's passing on the third occasion.
