Dennis Padilla’s statement from a 2024 interview, where he shared his honest thoughts about Julia Barretto and Gerald Anderson’s relationship, resurfaced on social media.

In the interview with reporters during the presscon for the movie ‘When Magic Hurts’ in February 2024, the veteran actor said he would not object if Julia and Gerald would get married in the future.

“After all these years, ‘di ba, napatunayan niya na mahal niya ‘yung anak ko, eh. Saka nakikita ko, mahal niya talaga ‘yung anak ko kaya okay sa ‘kin ‘yun,” Dennis, according to a report by Remate.

He also expressed his desire to walk his eldest child with Marjorie Barretto down the aisle, but said he would be fine if he would simply witness the wedding.

“Isa ‘yun sa pinakamahalagang bahagi ng pagiging tatay, eh. Na ihahatid mo ‘yung daughter mo sa altar, ‘di ba? Isang beses lang mangyayari sa buhay mo ‘yun kaya gusto kong mangyari ‘yun.”
“Pero kung hindi man mangyayari ‘yun, eh gusto ko pa ring ma-witness ‘yung wedding na ‘yun kahit na hindi ako ang maghahatid.”

“Sana naman, ma-invite ako,” he aired.

According to Bandera’s article, Dennis was also asked what he would do if the couple would not invite him.

“Siguro magsusuot ako ng wig, at facemask, shades,” Dennis quipped.

“Pero sana naman ma-invite ako. Oo naman. Oo naman! Sana naman, saka sa palagay ko yun ang tama yata, eh,” he added.

Dennis Padilla, born Dennis Esteban Dominguez Baldivia on February 9, 1962, is a Filipino entertainer known for his work as a comedian and actor. He is the son of the late comedian Dencio Padilla. Over the years, he has been featured in numerous films and television series, showcasing his versatility as a performer. In his personal life, Dennis was married to actress Marjorie Barretto from 1995 until their annulment in 2009. The couple has three children: Julia, Claudia, and Leon.
