“Today, we lost a legend—not just in music, but in spirit,” Charo began, expressing her heart-rending reaction to Pilita’s passing.
“Pilita Corrales was more than Asia’s Queen of Songs, she was a force of nature. She gave us music that lived in our hearts long after the final note. With every performance, she reminded us what it meant to be proud of being Filipino,” she continued, honoring Pilita and her music.
Charo also emotionally recollected, “My mom, who loved to sing, adored her. In fact, she even had a guesting stint in ‘An Evening with Pilita’ — a moment she cherished for life.”
The ‘Batang Quiapo’ star went on to further laud her “Tita Pilita.”
“Tita Pilita was beauty personified — always impeccably styled, with that signature coiffed hair and radiant poise. She blazed trails for women in entertainment — not just by singing, but by standing tall with elegance and strength.”
”I will always remember the way she made the stage her own — with that signature backbend and that magnetic smile that could charm an entire room into silence. She had a way of making every moment feel like a finale — and every joke land with perfect timing. Tita Pilita was the kind of woman who could sing a kundiman, throw in a punchline, and still look flawless doing both.”
“But beyond the showmanship, I will remember her warmth, her generosity, and the grace with which she carried herself — on and off the spotlight,” she also fondly wrote.
Charo then expressed gratitude to Pilita and wished her soul an eternal rest.
“A million thanks to you, Tita Pilita. You will remain in our hearts — always singing, always shining. Rest in power.”
Furthermore, Charo sent a heartfelt message to Pilita’s loved ones.
“My sincere sympathy and deepest condolences to all her loved ones. May you find comfort in the love she gave so generously, and in the legacy she leaves behind. Nagmamahal, Charo.”
