Dennis Padilla, an actor-comedian, once again found himself under the social media spotlight after leaving a now-deleted comment on daughter Julia Barretto's Instagram post, prompting a wave of speculation and mixed reactions from netizens in the online community afterwards.
On Monday, April 7, Julia posted a set of promotional photos for Maya, a financial app she regularly endorses, which showcased the actress as the app's latest 'Savings Calendar Girl.'

However, on Tuesday, April 8, fans were quick to notice a comment left by Dennis under the ad that simply read, "Kapal niyo" — a brief yet pointed remark that quickly gained traction online.
Though the comment was later deleted, screenshots of it began circulating online, leading many to question whether Dennis' message was connected to his earlier cryptic Instagram post.

Previously, Dennis made headlines after posting a handwritten note to his page that read: "Sagad sa buto. Grabe kayo! Nabudol niyo ko! Father of the bride naging visitor! Galing niyo!"
The post, which has also since been deleted, appeared to reflect the actor's disappointment.
Although Dennis has not explicitly stated whether his comment on Julia's ad was related to the wedding incident, netizens have been quick to connect the dots, especially given the timing.
As of now, Julia has not responded to her father's comment, and no official statement has been released by any member of the Barretto family regarding the incident about Dennis' viral posts.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Dennis' relationship with his kids went viral.
Back in September 2022, Karen Davila interviewed Julia where she admitted wanting more love and protection from her father, and confessed fearing the cycle of forgiveness and getting hurt.
"I just need more love, more protection. I just feel like, he should be my number one protector and that's not really what I'm getting right now from him so it does hurt. It does hurt because dapat siya yung tinatakbuhan ko diba? But, it's sad that I can't," she said.
