Michelle Dee, an actress and beauty pageant titleholder, recently concluded her guest appearance on the popular reality television show “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB),” admitting to experiencing a wave of emotions upon her departure.

Reflecting on her time inside the iconic “Kuya’s” house, Michelle described the experience as “magic,” highlighting the deep connections she forged with her fellow housemates.

In an interview with MJ Felipe of ABS-CBN News during the ABS-CBN Ball, she candidly shared her feelings about leaving the “PBB” house.

“When Kuya told me that it was time for me to go out, I cried. I really didn’t want to leave yet. I loved the whole experience, and of course, I also grew to love the housemates. I really found a connection with them,” Michelle revealed, underscoring the genuine bonds formed within the unique environment of the show.

Michelle also reflected on a particularly moving task that encouraged the “PBB” housemates to share their personal narratives.

During this heartfelt moment, fellow housemate Esnyr bravely spoke about his family struggles, while Klarisse openly came out as bis3xual.

The beauty queen expressed a sense of fulfillment in having played a role in creating a safe space for these revelations.

“That’s why I do what I do. My life should also serve as a source of inspiration. You walk the talk,” she stated, emphasizing her belief in leading by example.
“For that to materialize into Esnyr sharing something about his life, and of course ate Klang, nakakataba po ng puso to be able to inspire something as big as that. Kaya salamat Kuya for allowing me to do that,” Michelle added, acknowledging the show's host for facilitating such moments of vulnerability and connection.

During the same task, Michelle herself offered a personal glimpse into her own life, candidly addressing the challenges she has encountered.

“I think one of the worst impressions about me, especially in my career, is I had it easy,” she confessed to her housemates.

Despite often being perceived as having a privileged path due to her prominent parents, Michelle revealed that her journey has been far from effortless.

She emphasized the significant hard work and personal struggles that often go unseen by the public.

“People don't know how hard I work behind the scenes. People don't know what I went through growing up. People think I'm a nepo baby because I have two prominent parents, but I have been independent since I was a teenager,” she asserted, challenging the assumptions made about her.

The Miss Universe Philippines 2023 also opened up about a painful period in her personal history.

“My parents had the worst breakup, very public, which is why I moved to the States. My mom wanted to shield us from all of that,” she shared, providing context to a significant life decision.

Even after representing the Philippines twice in international pageants, Michelle admitted that her professional journey continues to present difficulties.

“Since coming here, it's always been an uphill battle even after competing twice internationally, parang hindi pa tapos. It's like you're always fighting for something, parang hindi siya enough. And they always highlight the negatives, and you have to be so strong mentally,” she explained, highlighting the persistent pressures and criticisms she faces in her career.

Michelle confessed to often feeling overwhelmed by these challenges but maintains a perspective of taking things one day at a time.

“I am just taking it day by day. People don't know I am drowning. [I am] very proud of where I am but I know that there is so much more that I could do,” she concluded, offering a raw and honest reflection on her ongoing journey.

Michelle Marquez Dee is a beauty queen who rose to fame after winning the Miss Universe Philippines 2023 pageant. She represented the Philippines at the 72nd Miss Universe pageant in El Salvador. Michelle's mother is actress and former beauty queen Melanie Marquez, who has been very supportive of her in all things.

Last month, Michelle took to Instagram to show her full support for her cousin Winwyn Marquez. The latter would be competing for the Miss Universe Philippines crown. Michelle has already made a name for herself when she made it to the Top 10 of the Miss Universe 2023 pageant. Now, she is ready to give her all out support for her cousin Winwyn who would try to take a shot at the coveted crown.
