Sen. Imee Marcos, in a press conference on Thursday, March 27, had a statement regarding former President Rodrigo Duterte’s birthday.

It is worth noting that the former chief executive will turn 80 years old on Friday, March 28.
As seen in the video posted by ABS-CBN News, Sen. Marcos expressed her birthday wish for Duterte.
“Siyempre happy birthday. Matindi rin 'yung umabot sa 80 years old at sana makauwi na siya,” she aired.

The lady senator went on to express her desire to visit Duterte in The Hague, where he is currently being detained.
Sen. Marcos further said she would like to personally deliver the P10,000 check that Duterte may receive as a qualified senior citizen beneficiary under the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024.
“At higit sa lahat, siyempre, gusto kong pumunta sa The Hague. Kung papayagan ako, dadalhin ko 'yung tseke na P10,000. Expanded centenarians, qualitfied na siya, 80-anyos na.”

Just yesterday, March 26, Sen. Marcos announced her departure from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, the party endorsed by her brother Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
The presidential sister’s decision came days after the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
The lady senator took to her social media pages to announce the said development.
In a statement she, she said she cannot stand on the same campaign platform as the rest of the Alyansa.
"Hindi ko na magagawang mangampanya at tumuntong sa iisang entablado kasama ang iba pang kasapi ng Alyansa. Tulad ng aking sinabi mula sa simula ng panahon ng halalan, mananatili akong independyente," part of her statement reads.
Former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was the 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines. He left Malacañang on June 30, 2022. The newly inaugurated President of the Philippines is Bongbong Marcos who got 31 million votes in the May 2022 elections. The new Vice President of the Philippines is VP Sara Duterte, the daughter of the former president.
Previously, Sen. Imee Marcos released an official statement concerning the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte. She is calling for a probe on the arrest, and would want to establish whether due process was followed in his arrest. The senator also said that she is inviting key officials and agencies including officials from the PNP, OTS-DOTr and a lot more.

In the comments section of his recent post, the netizen asked, “Direk saan ba talaga ang puso mo, sa mga Marcos o Duterte?” The director then gave a straightforward answer to the netizen.
