Sharon Cuneta, ipinakita malalaking scars na iniwan ng "excess skin removal" procedure

Sharon Cuneta candidly discussed the scars on her arms, which resulted from a surgical procedure to remove excess skin.

She mentioned that she is currently undergoing treatments to help improve their appearance.

Back in 2023, Cuneta revealed that she had undergone cosmetic surgery to eliminate loose skin following a weight loss of over 100 pounds.

During a recent visit to her dermatologist, Dr. Aivee Teo, the Megastar showed her scars, as seen in a video shared on Teo’s Instagram page on Thursday, March 20.

“That’s the one, my surgery—when we removed skin,” Cuneta said while Teo examined her arm, tracing the long vertical scars left by the procedure.

“Imagine ang laki ng excess skin d’yan na tinanggal,” she added. “This is what I’m saying—the scars. Sana we have treatment.”

Teo then documented the treatments she performed to help reduce discoloration and enhance the overall quality of Cuneta’s skin.

Now in the ninth year of her weight-loss journey, Cuneta shared that she has intensified her efforts this year to shed the “last several pounds” to reach her goal.

In addition to having the excess skin on her arms removed, she also underwent a br3ast reduction procedure, explaining that the weight loss had left her with mostly loose skin.

“Because I lost so much weight, naturally, mas sagging ‘yung skin,” she said. “Ang payat-payat ko na, ang laki pa ng balat. So, ipinatanggal lang ‘yung extra skin, ‘yun lang.”

“And I don’t want to hide it. There’s no reason to, hindi naman nakakahiya,” she added.

Sharon Cuneta, commonly known as the 'Megastar' in the local showbiz industry, is a prominent veteran celebrity in the Philippines. She is also the mother of KC Concepcion, her daughter with fellow actor, Gabby Concepcion. In 1996, she tied the knot with Kiko Pangilinan and they have three children.

Recently, Sharon gushed over her eldest daughter's gifts. On Instagram, Sharon flexed the 'pasalubong from the States' that KC Concepcion sent. Along with the gifts was a beautiful and handwritten letter from KC as well. Needless to say, many were touched by the mother-and-daughter duo's love for each other.

It then reminded everyone to be thankful of all the essentials that people have to survive. The quote also underscores that having family and friends is a blessing.
