During a recent appearance on the online talk show “Your Honor,” the comedienne openly discussed the topic of aging as a single woman, challenging commonly held beliefs about loneliness and fulfillment.

When “Your Honor” host Tuesday Vargas asked Kakai how she responds to people who say “Ah kaya 'yan ganyan tatanda na 'yang dalaga. Accept mo ba ito?,” the actress playfully retorted, “O ano pakialam niyo kung matandang dalaga ako?

The comedienne emphasized that being single, even in later life, is a perfectly valid choice.

She challenged the cultural narrative that equates singlehood with loneliness. " Usually sa culture natin ang laging sinasabi, ‘Malungkot ‘yan kasi single.’ Totoo ba?” she asked. “Gaganu’nin ko lang, ‘Sure ka malungkot ako?’”

She then questioned the negative connotations associated with “single blessedness,” arguing that it is a chosen path, much like the life of a nun.

“Ano ba masama sa single blessedness? Hindi masama ‘yon, kasi choice ‘yun eh. Ibig mong sabihin masamang tao ang mga madre kasi single blessedness ang pinili nila?” she said.

She pointed out that many individuals lead fulfilling lives as single people, finding companionship and purpose in their faith.

“Sila rin, ganoon ang buhay nila. Single sila forever, pero ang karelasyon nila, si Lord,” she explained.

In the same episode, Kakai also shared advice for those navigating single life, urging them to embrace life's experiences while maintaining responsibility and self-love.

“Kasi nga guys, ang ikli ng buhay naman,” she said.

“Go lang nang go, pero huwag mong kalilimutang maging responsible and mahalin mo rin ang sarili mo,” the comedienne advised.

She cautioned against unchecked impulsiveness, emphasizing the importance of considering the impact of one's actions on others.

“Nakalilimutan kasi natin eh. Go lang nang go, hindi ka naman responsable. O ‘di lahat ng nakapaligid sa ‘yo, pisti ka sa buhay nila, pabigat ka, salot ka,” she said. “So dapat go nang go pero be responsible,” Kakai said.
