Previously, in January 2025, Tribune reported that Vic officially filed a complaint of 19 counts of cyber libel against the filmmaker over his controversial trailer for his new movie about Paloma.

Following this news, Inquirer wrote in their article that a 'gag order' was issued against the actor and his camp regarding the case to observe 'strict confidentiality' about the proceedings.

However, a few days later, the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court would reject Darryl's bid to consolidate the actor's complaint, as reported by ABS-CBN News earlier this year as well.

It is worth noting that the trailer Darryl initially posted was that of Gina Alajar's character asking Rhed Bustamante, who was playing Pepsi, about Vic which the latter responded to afterward.
