The media event was held for the launch of Mendrez's new song, "Nandito Lang Ako."
In a video, Mendrez was in the middle of performing his new song when Herras suddenly stepped into the spotlight and handed him a bouquet of flowers.
After the performance, members of the media asked Mendrez about the viral video of him and Herras that had been circulating online.
It can be recalled that just recently, Mendrez denied the rumors about him and Herras.
After performing his new song, Mendrez was asked what he saw with Herras for including him in the music video of the song "Somewhere In My Past."
Mendrez said:
"No comment, pasensiya na, no comment. Kasi ano eh, 'yan nga 'yung pinagdadaanan ko ngayon eh. 'Yung video na lumabas na 'yan eh napaka-malicious. Kaya sabi nga ng management, ''wag mo na sagutin,' kasi kahit sabihin ko na hindi, sasabihin ng tao ay oo. Kung sasabihin ko namang oo, sasabihin ng tao, hindi. So, saan ako lalagay. Kasi nga, ang mga tao madaling mag-judge, kung anong nakita nila 'yun na 'yun. So, I can not explain to everyone na ito ang totoo, ito ang ganyan, kaya sabi ko 'wag na lang akong mag-comment for that. At kung siguro makita niyo siya, pwede niyo rin naman siyang tanungin. Kasi saking side eh, ang dami ko nang pinagdaanan, family ko affected, tapos 'yung mga kaibigan ko tumatawag sa'kin. Pag-open ko nang cellphone ko mukha ko agad ang makikita. Sa Google, sa Facebook, lahat mukha ko. So, kumita naman ang mga social media ano dun, mga vloggers. Kumita sila dun, so, sa'kin, hayaan na lang. Siguro, one day, malalaman rin naman nila 'yung totoo."
"Hindi siya (Herras) part ng music video," he clarified.
Jojo Mendrez is a Filipino singer and songwriter known for reviving classic songs. Dubbed the "Revival King," he has released renditions of popular tracks like "Somewhere in My Past." Beyond music, Jojo is also a businessman and composer.
