More details about the untimely demise of South Korean actress Kim Sae-ron have been disclosed.

As per The Korea Times, Seoul's Seongdong Police Station said there were no signs of forced entry or foul play, nor did they find a will or note left by the K-drama star.

In the same report, it was noted that during a regular briefing at the National Office of Investigation on Monday, authorities stated that her sudden death is presumed to be a suicide and will be handled as an unattended death case.

"We believe she made an extreme choice and plan to handle it as a suicide," a police official told reporters, as quoted in a report by Yonhap News Agency.

It can be recalled that Kim Sae-ron was found dead at her home on February 16, Korean media reported.

She was discovered by a friend who had plans to meet with her. According to The Korea Herald, Kim's friend called the police at around 4:50 p.m.

As per ABS-CBN News, Kim was mostly inactive in the entertainment industry due to a drunk driving incident in 2022.

A court fined her 20 million won ($13,850) in April 2023, The Korea Herald noted.

In 2024, the late K-drama star also made headlines after being linked to actor Kim Soo-hyun in dating rumors.

Born in 2000, Kim Sae-ron began acting at the age of 9, garnering attention through her appearances in the action movie "The Man from Nowhere" in 2010 and the thriller "The Neighbor" in 2012. She led the mystery series "The Great Shaman Ga Doo-shim" in 2021 alongside Nam Da-reum. "Bloodhounds," released in 2023, was her last work.

Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu has also passed away on February 2. According to reports, Barbie Hsu succumbed to pneumonia at 48 years old after getting it during their Japan tour for the Chinese New Year period. Barbie Hsu became popularly known as 'Shan Cai' in the 2001 Taiwan TV drama series "Meteor Garden" where she was the leading lady of another Taiwan star Jerry Yan.

Lee Joo Sil, a veteran South Korean actress, has tragically passed away at 80 years old. According to Koreaboo, Lee Joo-sil died on February 2 at 10:20 a.m. while receiving treatment for her illness. Her agency, 1230culture, also confirmed the unfortunate news to Soompi with a statement. The veteran South Korean actress starred in numerous projects including “Train to Busan” and “Squid Game 2.”
