Sandro Muhlach's case against Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz has made headlines after a new update was released to the public.

Earlier, GMA News reported that the Pasay Metropolitan Trial Court has recently dismissed one of the charges filed against the two.

Previously, Nones and Cruz were facing two counts of 'Acts of Lasciviousness' regarding the case.

However, the Pasay Metropolitan Trial Court said it was an 'overkill' already and dismissed one of the charges filed against the two.

"Indeed, the acts of lasciviousness being complained of before this court are necessarily included in the charge of r*pe before the RTC. Again, the prosecution resorted to an overkill by filing the instant Informations for Acts of Lasciviousness when clearly the acts are constitutive and/or simultaneous and are deemed absorb in the r*pe case with the alleged sole intent and purpose of arousing and ultimately gratifying the accused' own s*xual desires," the statement read.

It is worth recalling that Sandro first made headlines after he formally filed a complaint against Nones and Cruz in August 2024.

The eldest son of Niño Muhlach also stirred online buzz after he bared his honest thoughts on his situation in an Instagram post.

"What you did to me, it wrecked me. Hirap na hirap ako makatulog since it happened. Anxiety and PTSDs are hard to beat. Everyday akong hina-haunt ng trauma ko," the Sparkle artist had written.

Eventually, at one point, Niño also faced the Senate and even shared the alleged text messages between his son and the two.

"Nainsulto talaga ako noong sinabi nila sa media na si Sandro ang unang nag-text eh," Niño said.

Following this news, the NBI also released the CCTV footage of Sandro at the hotel, before and after reaching Nones and Cruz.

Sandro Muhlach is the eldest son of veteran actor and former child star, Niño Muhlach. He started as a theatre actor when he was 13 years old and is now a Kapuso artist.

As previously reported by KAMI, Sandro Muhlach recently aired a strong message for Atty. Maggie Garduque. Garduque is currently the lawyer behind Rita Daniela's case against Archie Alemania. On his Instagram page, Sandro said it was ironic to see Garduque standing with a victim of assault seeing as she is the lawyer of the two contractors.

Meanwhile, Sandro Muhlach issued a statement after the Department of Justice filed cases against his alleged abusers. In his statement published on Instagram, Sandro expressed how difficult it was for him to tell the public that he was abused. The eldest son of Niño Muhlach likewise said he had to endure online bullying in addition to the trauma.
