John Estrada, a Filipino actor, is deeply saddened by the passing of Gloria Romero, known as the Queen of Philippine Cinema.

In an Instagram post, John shared how 'very supportive and encouraging' Gloria was to him when he was still new in showbiz.

However, what caught the attention of everyone was John looking back at the time the veteran star talked to him on the set.

"Nung nakikita ni Tita Glo na pinapagalitan ako dati sa Palibhasa, one time tinawag niya ako and gave me the advice of a lifetime. Sabi niya, 'Juanito, gusto mo ba talaga ang ginagawa mo?' And I replied, 'Opo, tita.' Sabi niya, 'Di ka tatagal sa industriyang ito kung di mo seseryosohin ito.' Kasi nga puro lang kame kulitan, and she continued, 'Wag mo gayahin yan sina Ricardo at Joselito dahil magagaling na ang mga yan, matagal na nila ginagawa 'to, eh ikaw bago ka pa lang, so magbasa ka ng script at mag-memorize ka,'" the well-known actor told his fans and followers.

John shared that he took Gloria's advice seriously, revealing what the latter told her after they met again a couple of years later.

"Syempre sineryoso ko ang advice niya. Those inspiring words gave me comfort and confidence as I navigated the industry. Tapos nung nagiging leading man na ako sa teleserye, at natuto na akong umarte, at nagkita kame ni Tita Glo, inupo niya ako at she told me na she's a fan now at sobra raw siyang proud sa akin," John recalled in his now-viral post on the photo-sharing app.

By the end of his post, John expressed how lucky he was as a beginner to have been able to work with an icon immediately.

"Napakaswerte ko po at nakatrabaho ko kayo kahit baguhan pa lang ako sa industrya at isa kayo sa mga reyna ng industriya. I am praying that you will rest peacefully in the comfort of God’s embrace. I love you, Tita Minerva," John wrote, touching the hearts of netizens on social media.
