Darryl Yap’s urgent motion for the issuance of a “gag order” against Vic Sotto and his camp has been granted by the court.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, the director’s lawyer, Atty. Raymond Fortun, earlier filed the said petition at the Muntinlupa RTC.
This is to prevent Vic and his camp from further talking about the case he filed against the director.
The director, through his lawyer, also filed a Motion for Consolidation, which seeks to consolidate multiple criminal cases into one trial as the cases involve the same parties and arise from the same incident.

The court also granted the request of the director, through his lawyer, resetting the hearing scheduled for January 15 to January 17.
While the Muntinlupa RTC did not immediately grant the Motion for Consolidation of Atty. Fortun, it ordered the camp of Vic to submit their comment on the same.
It can be recalled that Vic, an actor, producer, and TV host, filed 19 counts of cyberlibel against Direk Darryl.
Vic, through his lawyer, also filed a Writ of Habeas Data against the director, though it wasn’t clear if the latter has already filed his reply or comment to the said petition.
Darryl Yap is a Filipino filmmaker, director, and screenwriter known for producing controversial films and online content. He is behind VinCentiments, a social media platform that produces short films and viral videos that often deal with issues of life, society, and politics.
Recently, Darryl also took to Facebook and addressed "trolls." It was a post that responds to questions why he was brave, and who was backing him up. The director said that it was not Imee, nor Jalosjos, nor Discaya. He then declared that the controversial Pepsi Paloma movie will be shown in 2025 because it is the 40th death anniversary of Pepsi.
Previously, Darryl's repost of several photos of Vic Sotto arriving at the Muntinlupa City RTC to file a case against the director has gone viral. The post was originally made by News5, which Direk Darryl then reposted along with the caption “Pepsi goes back to court.” It can be recalled that Bossing Vic filed 19 counts of cyberlibel against Direk Darryl for the mention of his name in a teaser trailer of the director’s new movie about Pepsi Paloma. The Muntinlupa RTC has also ordered the director to answer within five days the “Eat Bulaga!” host’s petition for Writ of Habeas Data.
