In a previous report by KAMI, Darryl Yap and his representatives were ordered by a Muntinlupa court to take down the teaser and other materials for his film, “The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma.” In a report by Nimfa Ravelo of Super Radyo dzBB, Muntinlupa RTC Branch 205 granted the petition for writ of habeas data filed by Vic Sotto last Monday. “May utos na po ang korte sa writ of habeas data na ito ay lumalabag sa karapatan ng ating kliyente kung kaya’t pansamantala ay grinant ang habeas data,” Atty. Enrique Dela Cruz, Sotto’s legal counsel, said in the same report. It can be recalled that Vic Sotto's name was deliberately mentioned and accused of rape in the movie teaser.
Prior to this report, Vic Sotto was seen at the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court to file charges against director Darryl Yap. The case is related to Yap’s upcoming movie titled "The Rapists of Pepsi Paloma," where Vic’s name was mentioned. The Philippine Star shared a video of the couple’s court appearance on TikTok, which quickly gained attention online. Netizens conveyed their thoughts about the issue.
