Donny Pangilinan's father, Anthony, was apparently admitted to the hospital, where he had to undergo an open heart surgery.
In a video that he posted on his Instagram, @anthonypangilinan, Donny's father opened up about his condition as well as his surgery.

"It was shortness of breath that made me check up my medical check-up results," he began in the viral video on his social media page.
According to Anthony, to make the long story short, he apparently had a "torrentially severe leak" in his heart, which led to a surgery.

"Long story short, I had a mitral heart valve issue that had, and I quote, a, 'torrentially severe leak,'" he revealed in his now-viral video.
"We prepped for the open heart surgery. What was supposed to be a 3-hour surgery turned out to be 12," Anthony also revealed on IG.
In the comment section, his son, Donny, reacted and wrote, "Been a tough past few months but we’ll get back stronger than ever."

He was spotted participating in Angat Buhay’s relief operations on Friday, July 26 in Quezon City. Meanwhile, Donny Pangilinan visited the set of "Lilet Matias: Attorney-At-Law" starring Jo Berry. It is worth noting that the actor's mom, Maricel Laxa-Pangilinan, is among the main cast members of the Kapuso afternoon series. Jo then took to social media and shared a photo and a video from Donny's visit. As seen in the video, Jo could not help "fangirling" over Donny.
