The said debate has also overshadowed accolades earned by some people for the Philippines, particularly that of Pinoy Olympian, Carlos Yulo, who made history in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

“Ma, sa tingin mo ang mga anak dapat maging breadwinner ng pamilya pagka-graduate nila?” a voice, presumably belonging to @otakoyakisoba, was heard asking her in the video that was posted on TikTok.

The voice who sounded like @otakoyakisoba then continued to ask about those people saying that children should be grateful to their parents because it is the latter who took care of them.

The @otakoyakisoba then asked if such mindset isn’t a bit cold considering the hard life in the Philippines.

“Wouldn't you say that's a bit cold sa hirap ng buhay sa Pilipinas?” the @otakoyakisoba's voice asked.

It can be recalled that in January of 2023, Mama Lulu took to Twitter and also expressed her opinion on the viral video of Alex Gonzaga. She gave an important lesson with regards service workers, highlighting the need to respect them. For the elderly internet personality, she stated that she would be mad if it would be done by someone who is not a blood relative. If it would be done other than a blood relative, Mama Lulu said that it would simply be insulting.

In a related post, actor and comedian Dennis Padilla shared a post regarding Carlos Yulo and his father, Mark Andrew. On his Instagram page, Dennis reposted a social media card by PEP.ph. It displays a collage and a headline about Caloy and his dad's heartwarming moment during the Heroes' Welcome Parade. Dennis shared the art card along with a short yet heartfelt caption.
