Angelica Yulo, the mother of two-gold Olympic medalist Carlos Yulo, recently received a friendly advice from the president of the Mrs. Philippines Organization (MPO), Erika Joy Santos.

Ms. Santos, aside from being the MPO president, is also the reigning Mrs. Philippines.
It can be recalled that in a recent media conference of the MPO where Ms. Santos discussed the qualifications needed in order to be a candidate for the Mrs. Philippines beauty pageant 2025, she was asked if it’s possible for Mrs. Yulo to join.
The current Mrs. Philippines and MPO president immediately gave an affirmative answer, saying Mrs. Yulo is welcome to join, and even expressed desire to meet with the Pinoy Olympian’s mom.

After the media conference, Ms. Santos was asked in an ambush interview if she has any advice for the beleaguered mom of Carlos.
“Just continue to be yourself and how you project yourself,” the MPO president said.
She then revealed that she has seen photos of Mrs. Yulo on newspapers and online, expressing her observation about how the Pinoy Olympian’s mom like to dress up.
“Kasi si Miss Angelica Yulo, I've seen her photos on the newspapers I mean and online as well. Mahilig siyang magbihis. So just continue that,” she added.
In parting, Ms. Santos empathized with Mrs. Yulo and gave her a friendly advice.
“Love yourself. Stop crying. Always smile,” the reigning Mrs. Philippines said, perhaps referring to some videos and photos of Mrs. Yulo showing her in tears.
This was after some family matters, particularly the rift with her Olympian son, surfaced online and thrust her and her entire family, including their some of their woes, into the limelight.
“You know problems would go. Don't keep it with you,” Mrs. Santos said in parting.
Angelica Poquiz Yulo is the mother of two-gold Olympic medalist Carlos Edriel Yulo. She rose to social media prominence after Carlos’ 2024 Olympic run. Angelica is also the mother of rising Philippine gymnasts Karl Jahrel Eldrew and Elaiza Andriel.
During the Mrs. Philippines Organization media conference, Erika Joy Santos, herself announced that Mrs. Yulo is welcome to join the Mrs. Philippines 2025 beauty pageant. Early during the said media conference, the MPO president was asked if Mrs. Yulo could join and Ms. Santos immediately gave an answer.
Meanwhile, the live-selling session of Mrs. Yulo on September 3 on Facebook apparently appealed to netizens. It was a success since she had a lot of miners for the items that she was selling. There were shirts and skincare products. In an FB post, she thanked all the miners of the things that she was selling.
