Gigi De Lana, in an interview with Toni Gonzaga, recalled one of the most painful things her mother, Imelda De Lana, had said to her.

During the interview, Toni said that everything a parent tells their child, the latter cannot forget.

"Alam mo, yung mga sinasabi sa atin ng mga magulang natin, hindi natin makakalimutan yan. The good and the bad. Ano yung pinakamagandang nasabi sayo ng mommy mo? Naaalala mo?" Toni asked.

The singer then recalled her mom always telling her to pray, to always look back at where she started, and to love the people around her.

Eventually, Toni asked the other part, saying, "Pero ano naman yung di mo malilimutan na nasaktan kang nasabi sayo ng nanay mo?"

"Sana hindi na lang kita ipinanganak," Gigi recalled, with Toni asking why her mother said it.

According to the famous singer, back then, she became "pasaway" when she was still a teenager.

"Nung time na yun, naging pasaway ako, lalo na nung nag-start ako maging teenager," she explained.
