Carlos Yulo, the Pinoy golden boy of the 2024 Paris Olympics, has acknowledged the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines president, Cynthia Carrion, as someone he looks up to as a parent.

According to Carlos, “Ma’am Cynthia” has been acting in a parental role for the athlete.

The Pinoy golden boy revealed that Ms. Carrion has been helping him with his needs during his training and actual competition.

He even said that Ms. Carrion would go at great lengths, sometimes to the point of picking up a fight with anyone, just so Carlos would get the necessary support that he needs.

The 2-gold medalist Pinoy Olympian said that “Ma’am Cynthia” truly believed in what he can achieve as an athlete.

“Ang daming taong tumulong sa akin. Si Ma’am Cythia, lahat po inaaway niya para lang suportahan ako. Siya ‘yung tumayong magulang ko po, naniwala po talaga sa akin,” Carlos said.

"Mother talaga ang turing ko sa kanya," he added.

Carlos Yulo is a Filipino artistic gymnast known for his exceptional skills and achievements in gymnastics. He gained international recognition for his performances in various competitions, particularly in the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. He bagged two gold medals in gymnastics of the Philippines in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In a recent interview of Carlos by a sports reporter, he was asked about the incentives he's bound to receive. It can be recalled that aside from plush properties, he stands to receive millions of pesos in cash incentives and bonuses. And because he brought home two Olympic gold medals, the announced incentives earlier could even go higher. In the same interview, Carlos said that he plans to take a brief respite from training to focus on his personal life.

In another report, this time by GMA's Balitanghali on Monday, Carlos and his girlfriend Chloe Anjeleigh were spotted having a sweet moment following the Filipino gymnast's second Olympic gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympics. According to the report, Carlos interacted with several fans waiting for him outside the venue of the vault finals of men's artistic gymnastics. After spending time with the supporters, the athlete headed to the other side of the arena to see his girlfriend. The two-time Olympic gold medalist and Chloe then sweetly kissed and hugged each other as they met.
