Maria Tonie Dela Cruz, a Ms. Gay contestant from a barangay in Meycauayan, Bulacan, suffered an injury as she was executing her fire dancing routine during the talent portion of the pageant.

In a report by GMA Public Affairs, Maria suffered from a first-degree burn after her face caught fire when she was executing the routine.

According to Maria, the boy whom she tasked to buy kerosene was given gasoline instead at the gas station.

Maria even noted that she did not notice it anymore because she was already performing.

She even shared that she was aghast to find the skin on her face, already attached to her hands.
